Free Employment Law Lunch Seminar

Free Employment Law Lunch Seminar : Wednesday 21 June at 12:30

Speaker: Euan Smith, Employment Lawyer

Location: Macleod & MacCallum Offices : 28 Queensgate, Inverness, IV1 1DJ

For lots of small to medium sized businesses there can still be a temptation to cut corners when it comes to the contract of employment. This remains the most important document in the employment relationship and stripping it back to only the bare essentials may not always be best. We will therefore discuss what makes a good contract of employment as well as discussing some trickier issues, including the right to live and work in the UK and the issue of holiday pay!

Additionally, and despite the political noise surrounding it, businesses are still keen to retain the flexibility associated with engaging staff on either a “self-employed” or “zero-hours” basis. However, what do these terms actually mean and when will a member of staff be able to argue they are an “employee” or “worker”. What, in turn, could this mean for your businesses and its obligations to staff.

With these issues in mind we invite you to attend our free lunchtime seminar on 21st of June.

To book your place please either telephone us on 01463 23 93 93, or email employment@macandmac.co.uk. Needless to say, sandwiches and soft drinks will be provided!

Macleod & MacCallum will look to build on this event, later this year, by moving onto issues more associated with the employment handbook, such as; sickness absence, disability, discipline/grievance and redundancy.

All those who attend this June seminar will be given a template contract of employment to take away with them.
