Data Protection and Employment law update – What you need to know.

The new law on Data Protection and Employment law update

Free Employment Law Lunch Seminar: 15 November 2017 (12:30-14:00)

Speakers: Euan Smith and Graham Laughton

Location: Macleod & MacCallum Offices; 28 Queensgate, Inverness, IV1 1DJ

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into force on 25 May 2018, has not been short of recent publicity. Some of the comment surrounding their introduction has been almost apocalyptic in tone!! Our Graham Laughton has been grappling with the new legislation, not only to assist our client base, but also from our own compliance perspective. He is therefore very well placed to sort out the myth, from the reality, and hopefully outline some practical ways forward. Please feel free to come with your own input and questions too, so that proposed “best practice” can also be shared.
There have been a few very significant employment law cases recently, which Euan will keep you up to date with! Not least the recent Supreme Court decision, which has scrapped Employment Tribunal fees. Other interesting cases have included; the continued rise in disability related claims, workplace monitoring of internet use/the right to privacy and yet more claims surrounding holiday pay & employment status.
To book your place, please either telephone us, on 01463 239 393, or email; employment@macandmac.co.uk.  Needless to say, sandwiches and soft drinks will be provided. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 15 November 2017!
