Coronavirus (COVID-19) – what we are doing to help our clients?

The COVID-19 outbreak continues to dominate events locally, nationally and internationally – this is a rapidly changing situation and Macleod & MacCallum continue to monitor the position closely.  We continue to follow Government and NHS guidelines to ensure the health and wellbeing of our staff and clients.

We appreciate that you may require legal assistance, notwithstanding, or indeed, because of the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 outbreak and our offices in Inverness, Invergordon and Portree remain open for business.  We continue to offer our full range of legal and property services to clients.

We have always provided a local and personalised service to our clients, and in these difficult times, we wish to make access to these services as easy as possible for you.  It may be possible to conduct your business without any requirement for a visit to one of our offices and in the first instance you should contact us to discuss your options – we are able to offer telephone consultations, video calls or, in certain circumstances, home visits – we are happy to provide our services to you in the most convenient manner for you.

If you do require to visit our offices then please contact us to arrange an appointment and avoid attending our office without an appointment – you will be asked a couple of questions – for example, have you displayed any symptoms of Coronavirus in the last 14 days – this is to ensure that we can maintain a safe environment for our clients and staff.  If you have displayed any such symptoms then it would not be possible to attend our office but we will make arrangements to communicate with you in other ways.

We have taken substantial steps to ensure a safe environment within our offices for clients and staff, and the situation is monitored daily by our Management team:

  • Enhanced cleaning has been introduced, with regular sanitising of regularly used surfaces such as door handles
  • Antibacterial wipes are available to visitors to allow them to wipe down mobile phones or other items
  • Hand washing facilities are available for all visitors and handwashing guidelines have been placed in all office bathrooms
  • Meetings will be held with a 2 metre distancing where possible, and all surfaces are sanitised after meetings
  • We have cancelled any non-essential meetings within our Offices

If it becomes necessary, our systems can be accessed remotely and used by some Staff who can work from home.  This will mean that we can keep business disruption for our clients to a minimum, and it will mean that you will still have access to your legal adviser or property consultant even in circumstances where they would not be able to attend our Offices.  We will keep our clients fully updated of such developments should this occur.

Our staff and our client’s safety remains our top priority and we will continue to focus on providing our clients with our usual high standard of legal and property services, whilst protecting their safety at all times.

If you have any questions or concerns please give us a call on 01463 239393 and we would be happy to help.
