Congratulations Scott!

Macleod & MacCallum promotes Scott Dallas to Director

We are delighted to announce the promotion of one of our Associates, Scott Dallas, who became a Director on 1st April, 2020.

Scott was born and brought up in Inverness, before attending University at Strathclyde and Aberdeen. Scott returned to Inverness, joining Macleod & MacCallum as a trainee solicitor in 2010, gaining experience in various departments during his time with the firm, before being appointed as Head of our Private Client Department.

Scott has extensive experience in dealing with Wills, Powers of Attorney, Guardianships, executry advice and Inheritance Tax and later life planning issues.

Scott commented “I am delighted to move in to the role as Director with the firm that I have trained and worked with throughout my career.”

“My favourite part of my job is the people – whether that be my clients, colleagues or other professionals. I really enjoy the high level of client contact my job involves and being able to put my legal knowledge into practice in providing solutions for clients.”

“If I hadn’t become a Solicitor then I think I would have become an Accountant, but looking back, I’m delighted (and somewhat relieved) that I was successful in my traineeship interview in the dim and distant past. I actually attended an interview the previous week at another local law firm and left there thinking I wanted that traineeship. However, I left Macleod & MacCallum after my interview certain that they were the right fit for me and I was right – I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 10 years with the firm and the varied work and opportunities afforded to me during that time.”

“My new role will allow me to be able to help the continuing growth of the firm, and in particular to enable us to offer our wide range of Private Client services to clients throughout the Highlands through our growing branch network.”

Morag MacIntosh, Chair of Macleod & MacCallum added: “I am delighted that Scott is joining the Board of Directors and I am sure he will make an invaluable contribution to the business, whilst continuing to provide high quality Private Client services to our clients.”

“Scott has been with us now for 10 years and this appointment is just reward for all of his efforts and hard work throughout this period, and is a recognition of his skill and dedication in helping our clients. It has been great to see him develop his skills over the years and we are all delighted to see a local boy do so well.”

“This is obviously a difficult time for everyone as we face the challenges brought on by Covid-19, and it’s encouraging to be able to share some positive news as we look to the future.”
