David Findlay
David qualified as a Solicitor in 2005. He completed his traineeship in the Western Isles and thereafter practised in Perthshire before joining Macleod & MacCallum in 2008. David’s principal area of interest and expertise is rural land law, from crofting and agriculture to renewable energy developments and advising rural estates. He has been a Director and Trustee of Scottish Native Woods since 2005 and has a keen interest in all aspects of conservation. David also has a PhD in History and Celtic from the University of Aberdeen.

Eilidh Ross
Eilidh studied International Relations & Politics at Aberdeen University (MA (Hons)) before completing a law degree at Strathclyde University. Eilidh joined Macleod & MacCallum in 2006 and completed her training contract with Derek Flyn in 2008. Eilidh now specialises in all aspects of crofting law including the purchase of crofts from estates, Scottish Land Court and Crofters Commission applications (both contentious and non contentious). Eilidh is a member of the Scottish Crofting Federation and the Crofting Law Group, and has been Editor of the latter’s Newsletter since 2007. Eilidh has also lectured on crofting law to students at Strathclyde University, and participates in the Law Society of Scotland’s Rural Affairs Committee.
