Liquor Licensing
The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 came into force fully on 1 September 2009. There has never been a more important time to obtain up-to-date and comprehensive advice in this specialist area.
We provide a comprehensive licensing service to licensed trade clients throughout the Highlands and Islands, acting for private and commercial clients on all aspects of liquor licensing law including applications for Premises and Occasional Licences, preparing Operating Plans, Extended Hours applications, and applications for Personal Licences.
Having guided our clients through the transitional period of the new legislation, we can advise on all aspects of the 2005 Act, including the requirements for training of staff and the display of notices at the premises.
The new legislation requires the consent of the licensing board to any changes to the way in which a licensed business is operated, and we can deal with applications for variation or transfer of Premises Licences.
We appear on behalf of clients at licensing board meetings throughout the Highland Licensing Board area and beyond, and have regular contact with the clerks and the local Licensing Standards Officers, to maintain our knowledge and understanding of local board policies, and initiatives such as Off-sales test purchasing.
