Agricultural Law

Agricultural law has seen major changes in recent years following enactment of the Agricultural Holdings (Scotland) Act 2003 and is a potential minefield for landlords and tenants alike.

Macleod & MacCallum can offer specialist advice to landlords and tenants on all types of agricultural tenancy, including:

  • short-term grazing lets
  • Short Limited Duration Tenancies (SLDTs)
  • Limited Duration Tenancies (LDTs)
  • “1991 Act” secure tenancies and the tenant’s Right to Buy

We can also assist landowners who wish to resume land for non-agricultural purposes. We can represent tenants and landlords alike in Scottish Land Court Applications in connection with applications under the Agricultural Holdings (Scotland) Act 1991 or the Agricultural Holdings (Scotland) Act 2003.
